Description
After Silence is based on real events in the life of the girl Helen Keller (1880-1968), who lost her vision and hearing at just a few years of age and lived in a completely separate world until the arrivel of Professor Anne Sullivan. From the meeting onwards, Anne begins the arduous task of teaching tectile english and making Helen learn to communicate with the outside world. The production features three actresses/dancers on stage. Camila Guerra and Naira Carneiro play Anne Sullivan and Helen Keller, respectively, and Renata Rezende (deaf actress), brings to the stage a current and autobiographical context, creating a powerful parallel dialogue between the character from 1890 and today. After Silence is bilingual, being performed in Portuguese and in Libras by the actresses themselves, without the need for an external interpreter, making the viewing inclusive for the deaf people.
